kids’ birthday party characters in South Florida work outdoors when you plan around sun, shade, and the usual afternoon rain. Call (800) 297-0414 with the date, the park or backyard address, and the character. Visits run 30 minutes or 1 hour. You get a text on party day with the arrival window.

Pick a time that fits the weather

An outdoor visit at your backyard or a park shelter you reserved is still your child’s party. The character comes to your table. That personal time is the point, compared with a shared character day in a crowded public setting.

South Florida’s wet season brings frequent afternoon thunderstorms, especially from late spring through early fall. The National Weather Service describes a rainy season on the peninsula that ramps up in May or June and eases in September or October, with storms that often build after the land heats up. Morning and late-day windows are usually calmer than mid-afternoon in that season.

A 30-minute visit is easier to place in a gap between showers. A 1-hour visit needs a shaded backup if clouds build. If the forecast looks wet, keep the same date and move the character to a garage, a lanai, or the living room. Tell us the indoor door to use so the performer does not walk the long way around a wet yard.

Winter and early spring are often drier. A backyard still needs shade for the performer and the kids. A pop-up canopy or a tree cover is enough for photos. Have water for the children. The character visit is still photos, a few minutes of play, and cake if you want them there for that.

Backyard, park shelter, or both

A backyard is the simplest outdoor setup: one address, a bathroom the performer can use, and a parking spot. Put the cake table in the shade. Keep a clear path from the gate to the photo spot.

Town and city parks work when you want tables and a playground. On the rebuilt Davie page we walk through Town park shelters such as Bergeron Park, which has picnic tables, a grill, restrooms, and play equipment, with hours listed by the Town as 9 a.m. to sunset. See Davie for that local detail. Other city pages will get the same treatment as they are rebuilt. For any park, book the shelter with the city or town first, then call us with the park name and the character.

Have a backup plan written down: if the shelter is wet, we can do photos under the roof and skip the open field. If thunder is close, move everyone to cars or a nearby indoor room and resume when it is clear. We still honor the 30-minute or 1-hour visit you booked.

Heat, shade, and the costume

Full costumes hold heat. Shade is not optional in summer. Place the photo line under a tree, a pavilion, or a tent. Keep the visit moving: photos, a short game, then cake in the shade. A 30-minute visit is a good summer default. Choose 1 hour when you have real shade and mixed-age cousins who each want a turn.

Look at the costume pictures and pick a character your child already knows. Chase, Bluey, a princess, or a superhero all photograph outdoors. Book the name, not a color description, so we send the right costume.

What to tell us on the call

Give the date, the South Florida city, backyard or park name, the child’s age, and 30 minutes or 1 hour. If the park has a gate or a parking loop, say so. If you will move inside for rain, give us that door too. You get a text on party day with the arrival window.

Office picnics and preschool yard parties use the same facts. Name the shade structure and the indoor backup. We confirm the costume on the call.

Book the outdoor visit

Call (800) 297-0414 or check your date at contact. Have the date, the address or park name, the character, and 30 minutes or 1 hour ready.

If thunder is close, Florida’s National Weather Service guidance is to move inside and wait until the storm has passed. Pause the games, keep the kids with an adult, and resume photos when the sky is clear. We still run the 30-minute or 1-hour visit you booked, starting when the performer is with the guests in a safe spot.

Bring a small towel for wet benches and a backup cake table indoors. Park pavilions help, but metal tables sit in the open. A backyard lanai or a garage with the door up can finish the visit if the field is soaked. Tell the performer which door to use when you reply to the arrival-window text.

Preschool yard parties and office picnics should name the shade structure on the call. A tent wall or a building eave is enough for a 30-minute visit. Choose 1 hour only when that shade will last the whole window. Then book the character your child already picked and enjoy the photos.

If you are choosing between a backyard and a park, pick the place with shade and a restroom first. A pretty field with no cover is a hard place for a full costume in July. A smaller patio with an awning is easier. When you have the spot, call (800) 297-0414 with the character name and 30 minutes or 1 hour. We confirm the costume and send the arrival-window text on party day. Have the park name ready too.
